I am delighted to welcome you to The Eltham Foundation School. One of our students summed up the spirit of our school in the slogan "Learning to be the best we can be." It rightly puts learning at the heart of our school's endeavour for both students and staff. It is not specific but includes all aspects of human development – intellectual, physical, emotional, personal and spiritual. In effect it is about the development of the whole person. It aspires to excellence in all things. The use of the word "we" is significant as it tells us that by working together we bring strength and the capability to solve problems. It applies to all members of the school community and it is about both the present and the future.
We believe in our students and we shall seek to develop the wide diversity of talents and gifts that they bring with them to The Eltham Foundation School. We want them to leave us having developed their potential in terms of life-long learning skills and social attributes as well as their intellectual abilities.
In short we want them to be happy, well rounded, good people ready to make a worthwhile contribution to themselves, their families and to the community in which they live.
